For three decades, NUMA Feeds Ltd (NUMA) has been producing high-quality, nutritious grain products from their facility in Kabwohe- Sheema, Western Uganda. As a medium-sized grain company committed to providing affordable animal feeds, they continuously refined their processes to meet industry standards. However, their continued growth and expansion further exacerbated the operational challenges- challenges that their existing systems couldn't solve. 


Like many manufacturers, NUMA faced persistent pain points: 

  1. Product costing was inaccurate and time-consuming since it involved combining information from disparate systems
  2. Sales team activities in the field were impossible to monitor 
  3. Critical customer data was invisible - they couldn't track which wholesalers needed restocking or how many orders field agents had secured
  4. Critical business information remained siloed across departments 
  5. Existing reports couldn't track the custom parameters they needed 


For years, they relied on locally installed programs like QuickBooks and Tally due to unreliable internet connectivity in Western Uganda. While these handled basic accounting, they couldn't adapt to NUMA's specific needs. Management even explored custom software solutions, but these presented new complications.
